Academic Activities Commences As LAUTECH Students Resumes Iseyin Campus

Academic activities have began on Monday morning at the College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources, Iseyin, which transformed from the former Faculty of Agriculture of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH).

The Chronicler Newspaper’s correspondent who visited the campus around ten on Monday morning, saw students being lectured in the lecture theaters in the school premises.

Also found in the campus are members of the Iseyin Community’ s Committee on Establishment of the College, led by the committee’s Chairman, Hon. Waheed Olaniyan.

Speaking with our reporter, Olaniyan said the team was happy that academic and social activities took off early on Monday morning, saying the school’s Physical Planning Committee has also allocated spaces to students and businesses for commercial purposes.

”Like the Oyo State Governor and the management of LAUTECH promised, we have seen the commencement of academic and social activities in the campus.

”We were told some students will still be finding their ways into Iseyin today and we are on ground to make their quest for accommodation easy for them.”

A student that spoke with our Correspondent under anonymity said he was happy to resume in Iseyin, despite the initial fear of the unknown that many students have been having before.

He said he has gotten a room apartment somewhere close to the campus at affordable cost and has settled down over the weekend before the Monday resumption.

”We have overcome the initial fear of resuming in a campus that is new to us, now most of us have secured accommodation that is affordable and as you can see, we have started lectures already.

”Those that are yet to resume will be joining us today, as they have seen that academic works have started,” he said.
