Agro Rangers, Local Vigilante Snatch 3 For Stealing 2 Motorcycles in Iseyin

Three young boys were arrested on Monday by men of Agro Rangers and local vigilante men in Iseyin for stealing two motorcycles.

Jelili Ademola, Bariyu Aderoju and Lateef Muiz were arrested after the last two, on their way to Lagos with a stolen Bajaj motorcycle when one of the tyres deflated and the owner of the motorcycle spotted them and raised an alarm.

Bariyu and Lateef said they came from Lagos to buy a motorcycle for commercial purpose and their brother, Jelili sold them the stolen Bajaj motorcycle.
“We bought the ‘machine’ from him and we had a flat tyre while we were on our way back to Lagos, that is how we were arrested, we never knew it was a stolen ‘machine’,” Bariyu said.

In his own account, Jelili Ademola said he found the motorcycle outside his house and thought it was abandoned by those that looted the police station in the community.
“I saw the ‘machine’ in front of our house by 11pm one day and taught it was one of those looted at the police station and when my brothers came from Lagos looking for Okada to buy, I sold it to them.”

One of the owners of the two motorcycles said Jelili was lying because the second machine that was found in his care, apart from the one stolen had no papers and he has confessed that he stole it as well.

The trio have since been taken to the State Police Command at Eleyele in Ibadan by the Agro Rangers as policemen were yet to resume work in the community as at the time of going to press.
