Alege Family To Pay WAEC Fees of 200 Iseyin Students in Five Years

The children of Late Pa Lasisi Alege have instituted a scholarship scheme that will be paying the West African Examination Council (WAEC)’s fees of two hundred indigent Iseyin students in the next five years.

According to the family, forty students have been selected by a special committee constituted by the family to screen the applicants from public and private secondary schools in Iseyin and its environs for 2023, while same will be done annually for the next five years.

They hinted that the gesture was to assist those in need, a replication of the acts of their late father while alive.

In his words, the scion of the Alege family, Pastor Bolaji Alege said the early vision of late Pa Alege to realize the importance of education in moulding the future greatly assisted the children while the teachings of diligence, integrity and Godliness helped in shaping their lives.

“Bami”, as we used to call you as little kids, and later “Alhaji”. Thank you for your vision for realising early as a young man that education was the future and that personal integrity, diligence, and godliness were great virtues.

“You left a good name, and we pray that the Almighty God will help us and our children after us to continue to build on the GOOD NAME that you bestowed on us. We cherish you now and forever. Alhaji Lasisi Ajala Alege, sun re o.”

The Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Ukraine, Shina Alege also described the late Pa Alege as not just a father but a true friend and mentor and prayed for eternal rest for the deceased.

“Two years gone like two seconds, our incomparable Daddy, true friend and mentor, continue to rest in the bosom of your maker after a fulfilling life journey, we all miss you,” he wrote.

Pa Lasisi Alege is fondly remembered by other children like Mrs Kudirat Adeoye, Mrs Nurat, Engr. Bayo Alege, Lukmon Alege among others.
