Says “I Will Uphold The Cultural Hegemony of The Old” – Adeyemi Wuraola

One of the sons of the late Oba Moshood Osuolale Adeyeri, Prince Wuraola Sulaimon Adeyeri has called on stakeholders in the selection of the next Aseyin of Iseyin, to give him support as he claimed to possess all required of the stool.

Sulaimon in a statement made available to The Chronicler Newspaper on Monday said, having been nominated by the Akando Royal Family, he has the mental, physical and emotional capacity to become the next Aseyin.

The last Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdulganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, died last year after a brief illness and the kingmakers, among the traditional council have been working on the selection process to install another king for the ancient town.

Adeyemi boasted of many contributions he has made towards the development of Iseyin community which include free Information and Communication Technology (ICT) trainings for youths, free healthcare services for the old as well as participation in ridding Iseyin community of arbitrary waste dumping through his waste evacuation service in partnership with the local government authority.

“Good day and the peace of the Most High to you my dear family, friends as well as all the citizens and the entire inhabitants of Iseyin at home and Abroad.

“Let me share a summary of my profile and statements of intent as I vie for the throne of Aseyin of Iseyin .

“I Prince Wuraola Sulaiman Adeyemi Adeyeri,hereby humbly solicit your support, Guidance and Prayers in my quest at becoming the next Aseyin of Iseyin. I’m a descendant of Aseyin Ajisibi Akando my great-great grandfather and my late father Óba Wuraola Moshood Osuolale Adeyeri II the son of late Wuraola Oyebisi Adeyeri.

“The Institution of Aseyin remains one of the most potent custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage and I pledge to up-hold the institution of Aseyin the cultural hegemony of old Oyo Empire and particularly Oke-Ogun in general.Our much- cherished institutions shall be eternally protected and respected.

“Having been nominated by the respected Akando Royal Family, I present myself to serve our institution Diligently with utmost humility. I’m prepared to be a committed custodian of our culture and tradition. As a Patriotic son of the soil , I have made and still to the best of my ability making huge contributions to the development of Iseyin and its environs.

”I have played meaningful roles in Community development in Iseyin e.g Training of youths on I CT and Entrepreneur,Free health care for less privilege,Community Sanitation in Conjunction with the ministry of Environment just to mention a few.

“I have also held several leadership positions within and outside of Iseyin community.

“For my educational background, I attended Araromi Nursery/Primary School (1990-1996),NESTO College Oyo(1996-1999),SPED International Secondary (1999-2002), I proceeded for A level course (IJMB) at the university of Zaria in the year (2004-2006).

”I later secured Admission to study International Air fare and Hospitality at Aeroflight College of Aviation in Ikeja,Lagos where I obtained Diploma Certificate (2008). I proceeded to the University of Ibadan where I study Psychology.

“Humbly speaking,I’m a mentor to many youths within and Outside Iseyin, Founder of NGO Oba Wuraola Adeyeri Foundation.

“A former Vice President to Oke-Ogun Partisan youths, also Cordinator to Olatoye Temitope Sugar Foundation(OSF), Pioneer Founder of Folorunsho Adisa initiative and as an elected Counselor in Iseyin South Local government, where I held the post of Leader to the legislative Arms, during the late Governor Ajimobi’s Administration.

“Presently, I’m the CEO Premier Properties, a Real Estate Company and District Manager for MOTTAINAI Recycling the Consultant that handles Solid Waste in Oyo State.

“I’m happily married to Wuraola Olubunmi Modupe and blessed with kids,My passion and area of interest are Yoruba History, African History and culture, Human Development, Behavioral science Research, Mentoring and Community development, Psychology and Public Speaking. Recall that Iseyin, Oyo and Ogbomoso are among major towns without monarchs and the kingmakers and the State government have been up and about in the process of selecting new kings for these communities.
