Aseyin Stool: Seven Contestants Have Obtained Forms – Kingmakers
Kingmakers in Iseyin local government, Iseyin, have started the process of selecting a new Aseyin of Iseyin with the sale of forms to contenders for the stool.
According to the Ikolaba of Iseyin, High Chief Ismail Odubiyi, seven contestants from the Akando ruling house have obtained the forms while other interested individuals from the house were still expected to join the contest.
Odubiyi further stated over a call with The Chronicler Newspaper’s correspondent that there would be a meeting at the Iseyin local government secretariat on the same day with the elders from the ruling house as well as the traditional council of the local government.
He however stated that the screening of the royal stool aspirants would begin at a yet to be fixed.
”We are praying that God himself should pick the right choice for us, but we are in the process as I am talking with you, a meeting has been scheduled to hold at the local government secretariat and the ruling house is expected to be present.
”Also, seven contenders have picked nomination forms and we expect more to do so, after this we shall start the screening process at a date which we will make known to you,” he said.
The three ruling houses in Iseyin are Majaro, from where the late Oba Ganiyu Alobalowo hailed while the Olugbile ruling house produced the immediate past Adeyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi, Ajinese 1 and the Akando ruling house that produced late Oba Moshood Wuraola Osuolale is the next in line.
