Aseyin, Traditional worshippers Preaches Love As Ekunle Community Celebrates

The need for love among all religion worshippers in Nigeria was reiterated on Saturday at the special prayer for the celebration of Ekunle Day in Iseyin.

The call for love was made by the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba (Dr.) Abdganiy Salaudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi, Ajinese 1 and lead preacher at the Owonrin Aseyin Temple, Elegede, Ekunle Iseyin, Babalawo Ifajimi Eekarun, when members of Ekunle Community Consultative Forum, led by its Chairman, Hon. Waheed Olaniyan visited the Temple to flag off the celebration of the week-long Ekunle Community celebration.

Babalawo Ifajimi Eekarun, while preaching love, urged all human creatures to show love, as according to him, lack of the human attribute led to Kidnapping, robbery, ritual killing and other vices in the country.

He said if every stakeholder in community building showed love and respect for each other, society would be best for it.

“If the Muslims and Christians show love and understanding towards the traditional worshippers, there will be peaceful coexistence and growth of our community will be maximized.

“We call on our leaders at home, in the State and the country to stop using religion to separate us, they should rather use love to unite us and seek collaboration for human and economic development of our land.”

They prayed, using the notable historical legends in Ekunle Community like Ebedi, Iserinmodu, Elegba, Ita-Obele, Ita-Epo, Agbale, Sinmolawo, Elegede, Okutapemo among others as contact for growth of the community.

Aseyin who hosted the members of the Forum at his palace after the prayer session, appreciated the people of Iseyin for their support towards achieving many laudable developmental feats in the community, siting the successful approval of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Ladoke akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), which was announced by Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde recently.

He called on the people of Ekunle, Iseyin and Oke-Ogun in general to continue their prayers for the present administration in the State, especially as the hitherto abandoned Iseyin-Moniya road has been reawarded and almost completed.

The Chairman, Ekunle Community Consultative Forum, Hon. Waheed Olaniyan, attended the event alongside the Eekerin of Iseyin, Chief Sikiru Kabiru, Eekarun of Iseyin, Chief Musibau Adefabi, Baale Barracks, Iseyin, Alhaji Lawal Awojobi and the Baale Alapata of Iseyin, Chief Oluyemo Yekeen and other members of the organizing committee.

He appreciated the people of the Ekunle community for coming together to honor their source, which he said has produced many notable sons and daughters that are making Iseyin proud, like the medical doctor and award-winning writer, Dr. Wale Okediran, Professor Dele Olayiwola of the University of Ibadan, the Alege family, the Ajao family of Oloke compound, the Oluwo family among others.

He said Ekunle Community Consultative Forum is the umbrella body of the whole Ekunle community and represented the interest of the people therein.

He mentioned many achievements made through the body for development of Iseyin, which include acquisition of land for some federal and State institutions.

Olaniyan claimed that the approved Faculty of Agriculture would be sited on the lands given freely by the Aleshinloye, Onireke, Ladile and Eruuku families.
