Breaking!!! Excitement As Waasimi Community Connects To National Grid

The Waasimi community in Iseyin South Local Development Community Area (LCDA), Iseyin was agog on Wednesday as the community experienced was connected to the national grid for the first time since its inception.

The community shares boundaries ancient communities like with Ado-Awaye and Osoogun but has never had the opportunity of having electricity like the other areas around the zone.

The facilitator of the project, Hon Dare Akande, in a message made available to The Chronicler Newspaper said he was excited that the project has been successful as power supply has been delivered to the people of Waasimi.

Akande is an indigene of the community based in America and has recently also facilitated the establishment of the American National University of Nigeria in Waasimi.

He said the power project would add to the well being of the people and aid socioeconomic development of the area.

“I am beyond thrilled to share with you all that today I had the amazing opportunity to donate electricity to Wasimin- the host community of the American National University of Nigeria and the two neighboring communities.

”This is the first time these communities got access to Electricity in the history of their existence .

“It was an incredibly rewarding experience to be able to contribute to the well-being and development of this wonderful community.

“This gesture empowers Wasinmi community, supports local businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life for everyone. It’s a small step towards a brighter future, and I couldn’t be more proud to have bn the architect of this great history .

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the workers and vendors of the American National University of Nigeria, Wasinmi for their support in making this possible. Together, we are fostering positive change and creating opportunities for growth. No man on earth should give glory to himself, all Glory must be to the lord.”

The power project, according to Sulaimon Alabi, a resident of Waasimi, will give expose the dwellers of the community and neighboring communities that the power supply extended, to businesses that will earn them financial power while youths that have abandoned the community would come back home to make use of the opportunity to create self-employment.
