The family of Toriola Michael Olawale, a member of the Special Force Division of the Nigerian Army who was recently kidnapped at Port Harcourt, Rivers State have disclosed that the Iseyin-born middle-age man has been released.

According to a close friend of Olawale who spoke with The Chronicler Newspaper on Tuesday, Oloye Sunday Igboho was contacted and the freedom fighter got in contact with Simon Ekpa who resides in Finland but controls the Igbo freedom agitators, who were behind the abduction.

A video of Toriola was released by the Igbo agitators in which he was clad in military uniform and was made to speak on the need for Yoruba military personnel serving in the South-East Nigeria to leave.

The visibly distraught ex-soldier was seen in bandages and his face was swollen, an indication of exposure to severe beating and probably must have suffered gunshot.

Toriola’s friend said his friend has been freed and is undergoing medical attention.

“To God be the Glory Great things he hath done, We thank God Almighty over your life and the second Chance he gave to you to live.

“Hallelujah to his holy name, Our special Appreciation also goes to OLOYE SUNDAY IGBOHO for his Swift intervention over his release from captivity, We also appreciate others for the role they played

“We say to you all that Mercy will never depart from you in the day of need. Amen. Adewale you’re welcome back home. OLUWASEUN.”

Toriola hails from Aregbeomo Compound, Isalu, Iseyin, was a former special aide to the former Chief of Army Staff, Yusuff Buratai and attended St. John’s Grammar School, Isalu, in Iseyin Local Government of Oyo State.
