Flooding: Oke-Oja Community Cries our To Tinubu, Makinde, LG Chairman
The Oke-Oja community in Iseyin local government have called on the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to come to the aid of the inhabitants of the area due to the effects of flood on the area.
The Chronicler Newspaper gathered that a torrential rain that fell on Sunday flooded houses at Oke-Oja, destroying properties of residents as many houses and shops were waterlogged.
A resident, Akeem Balogun, who spoke with our correspondent said “ on behalf of the entire Oke Oja Community Iseyin, we are using this medium to call the attention of Iseyin Local government chairman, the Honourable representing Iseyin Itesiwaju at the state level, Honourable representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola and Iwajowa constituency and at the Federal level, Senator Fatai Buhari and the Oyo State Governor to come to the aids of Oke Oja Community. May Almighty Allah meet you all at point of needs.
”You can see the level of destruction caused by the flood, our people have lost many properties as the flood entered their houses and shops, we need urgent intervention.”
Akeem said a team of flood experts from the Presidency came to check the drainage lane about ten years ago but nothing has been done about the area.
