Fraud!!!: First Bank Disclaims Affiliation With Azimo.com on Global Transfer Services
The management of First Bank PLC has on Tuesday morning disclaimed an information listing it as one of the receiving or paying banks on Azimo.com, warning its customers to be wary of falling victim of fraudulent practices.
In an email message to its customers received by our reporter on Tuesday, the bank said it has no affiliation with Azimo and publicly disassociated itself from the company as according to the bank, the company was not a registered money transfer service establishment with the apex bank in Nigeria.
“We disclaim the listing of FirstBank as one of the receiving or paying banks on Azimo.com by Azimo Limited, offering global money transfer services.
“FirstBank has no affiliation with Azimo and hereby publicly disassociates itself from it, Azimo is not a registered money transfer service with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as such, not licensed in Nigeria, anyone who transacts with Azimo is therefore doing so at his or her peril,” the bank warned.
