Gbajabiamila Meets ASUU Leadership Over IPPS
The Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has started the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) in Abuja over the crisis that was generated by the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
The payment platform was introduced by the federal government in 2006 to improve the efficiency in the storage of personnel records and administration of monthly payroll to enhance the confidence of the workers.
The meeting between the Speaker and the ASUU leaders which started on Monday afternoon was called to straighten the contours in the discussions leading to the suspension of the eight months-old strike embarked upon by the University lecturers.
