I Never Endorsed Tinubu or Any Presidential Candidate – Adesina

The President of African Development Bank (ADB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has dissociated himself from a statement recently going round in the social media space, claiming that he has endorsed Senator Bola Tinubu as the right candidate for the Nigerian Presidency.

In the statement, Adesina was quoted to have said that if Tinubu could make Lagos the 5th richest economy in Africa and the safest in Nigeria, he would do better as the President.

But in a rebuttal tweet made on Wednesday by the Senior Advisor to Akinwumi Adesina on Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Dr. Victor Oladokun, the statement was untrue and should be ignored in its entirety.

“The captioned photograph and statement attributed to the President of the African Development Bank Group, (@AfDB_Group), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, endorsing a particular political candidate is untrue, mischievous, & fraudulent. Kindly ignore it.”

Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and has recently met with President Muhammadu Buhari to intimate the latter about his presidential ambition.
