‘I’m Contented With Grammy Nomination, Fela, Bob Marley Never Won’ – Femi Anikulapo-Kuti

Four times Grammy nominee and Afrobeat legend, Femi Anikulapo Kuti has replied some fans that being nominated for the most popular Grammy Award was enough pointer to his creative acumen in music.

Femi was nominated fourth time for the 2021 Grammy Award that will come up at the Staples Center in Los Angeles by January 31st, 2021.

While reacting to a tweet that announced his fourth nomination on Friday on Twitter, music is about spreading love and comfort than award.

“Music really is not about awards though. Fela never won or was never nominated, I don’t think Bob Marley was too.

“Music is about spreading love, giving people the will to go through the hard times in life, etc and inspiration, music must bring comfort too.”

The 63rd Grammy Award nomination also featured Nigerian artists like Burna Boy as his new album ‘Twice as Tall’ was nominated under the ‘World Music Album’ category as well as the sensational young artist, Wizkid.
