A socio-political group in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, Alliance for Oke-Ogun Development (AOD) has described the reign of the late Oba Dr. Abdganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, Aseyin of Iseyin as remarkable as the late monarch spent his fifteen years on the throne to facilitate monumental developmental projects to the community and Oke-Ogun area.

 

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the body and signed by its National Coordinator, Engr. Otunba Abiodun Fasasi, the group commiserated with the people of Iseyin over the loss of the King who ascended the throne in November 2007.

“The apex socio-political group in Okeogun, Alliance for Okeogun Development, AOD, National Coordinator, Engr. Otunba Fasasi has condoled with the people of Iseyin Okeogun and Oyo State over the passing of Aseyin of Iseyin Okeogun, HRH Oba AbdulGaniyu Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1,  whose reign covered major historic development in the region especially Iseyin city.

“The Aseyin of Iseyin’s 15 years rule was remarkable in many ways, most significant was the emphasis he placed on human development, thereby encouraging learning as a culture and formal education as a necessity while promoting values of peace and stability.”

“As a highly revered traditional ruler, Otunba commended the late monarch’s numerous participations in regional meetings to shape the future of the region, and the living words of wisdom he shared at every opportunity on unity.

“We share the grief with the Okeogun and Oyo state Traditional Council, Oba Ajinese’s family, friends, and associates, particularly in sports where he left another footprint and we pray that the Almighty God would receive his soul and grant him Aljanah.” the group stated.
