Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency: APC Leaders In Marathon Meetings To Pick Candidate
….It Is Head To Head Race Between Arokoto and Ariwoola – Close Source

The race among contestants for the ticket for Iseyin/Itesiwaju State constituency was at its hottest point last week, as leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the constituency worked without their initial sectional differences to pick a desired candidate that would give the ruling People’s Democratic Part (PDP)’ candidate a serious contest and snatch victory.
Among over fifteen candidates that showed interest in flying the flag of APC from the constituency, the leaders settled for Bolaji Ladigbolu Arokoto and Rasheed Ariwoola while they urged others to work with the two to bring out the best candidate for the 2023 election.

An impeccable source that attended the meeting where the duo were selected told The Chronicler Newspaper that the choice of Bolaji Arokoto was as a result of his experience as he contested the 2019 State Assembly with the incumbent, Hon Dele Adeola.

A strong point in Arokoto’s favor was the fact that he came second in the election with vote difference of not up to two thousand.

“This is somebody that despite the Makinde’s victory that assisted many State Honorable to win in 2019, he still got so much votes that it was a difference of under two thousand that separated him and the winner,” our source added.
The source added that Bolaji’s experiences in voters’ relation, structures and ability to coalesce all factional interests would be to his favor during the election.

While analyzing the chances of Rasheed Ariwoola, our source hinted that what he has going for him was the fact that he began the leg work on his ambition very early in 2020 immediately after the last general election.

“The young man left his base in the US to come and start meetings with party leaders and stakeholders in community development, he has also contributed so much to the party and has the financial war chest to do the battle.”
While APC members in the constituency await the outcome of the meetings, it is noted that there have been continued appeals, solicitations and other approaches by other candidates to curry the favors of the party leaders in the constituency.
