The people of Iseyin in Iseyin local government have been appreciating the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State over the establishment of the Iseyin Campus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH)’s College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources.

The College’s structures, especially the administrative building, offices and lecture rooms have been completed , awaiting the resumption of students, which has given the people of the community the assurance that the college has come to stay.

The Chronicler Newspaper visited the campus, situated along Iseyin-Okeho road on Friday and had a chat with the Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon and another indigene of the town, Mrs Titilayomi Ahmadu, who is a member of the LAUTECH Governing Council.

According to the Chairman, Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon, the establishment of the college is the icing on the cake in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the community by the present administration.

“We heard that some opposition figures were going around, telling our people that the school will not come on board, now you can see the structures that have been put in place, the school authority has perfected the resumption date for students and staff members of the college to resume after the election period.

“They said same thing about the Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso road that Makinde will not complete it, that road is now being plied by motorists going to Ogbomoso from Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun area, even before its commissioning.

“The governor has fulfilled his promise to us, the next thing is for us to fulfill our own side of the bargain, which is to reelect him come March 11, it will be another term of development for Oyo State, Oke-Ogun and Iseyin community.”

Mrs Titilayomi Ahmadu said she has been vindicated about the establishment of the college in Iseyin, as the structure in place and the readiness of the LAUTECH authority to take off immediately after electoral period.

She called on the people of Oke-Ogun, especially Iseyin to see the gubernatorial election as a means of reciprocating the good gestures of the Makinde’s administration in the education, health, workers’ and retirees’ welfare, as well as other critical human development areas of human life, by reelecting the governor.
