Iseyin Royal Families Urge Makinde To Replace Uncooperative Kingmaker With Warrant Chief

Princes and Princesses in Iseyin have called on Oyo State government and the Iseyin local government authority to commence the process of replacing any of the kingmakers that prove uncooperative in the process of selecting another Aseyin.

The call was contained in a communique issued at the end of a crucial meeting held at the palace of Aseyin by the Princes and Princesses of the land under the aegis of Aseyin Royal Dynasty on Tuesday.

According to the communique signed by the Communique Committee Chairman, Prince Moriselola Adeoti, Secretary Prince Alhaji Semiu Azeez and Member Prince Bola Azeez and was endorsed by the President of the Dynasty and Mogaji Ariori of Iseyinland, Prince Hamzat Adeoye and thirty-one other Princes and Princesses from the three Royal Families of Akando, Olugbile and Majaro, the governments were advised to appoint a Warrant Chief to replace any of the kingmakers whose conduct is thwarting the processes of having new Aseyin.

The Royal Dynasty gave kudos to kingmakers on the efforts so far made towards the selection process, while expressing strong belief that no matter the challenges, they shall successfully produce the most competent, credible and God-chosen Prince among the twelve names submitted to them to occupy the vacant stool of Aseyin of Iseyinland.

“We call for peace and unity among our kingmakers irrespective of their stand in the selection processes so that the stool can be filled without further delay,” the Dynasty said.

The Dynasty also expressed further saying “we charge Iseyin local government with the cooperation of the kingmakers to adopt the minute of their last meeting and forge ahead with the selection processes of new Aseyin and so make unnecessary delay a thing of the past.”

The Royal Dynasty enjoined the kingmakers to maintain the status quo as left by Aseyin of Iseyinland, Late Oba Dr. Abdulganiyy Adekunle Salau pending the arrival of the new Aseyin who they said, shall address all issues relating to his chiefs and other administrative and traditional arrangements of the palace.

The Princes and Princesses of Aseyin thanked stakeholders in Iseyinland for their unrelenting efforts aimed at fostering peace and unity among the kingmakers and producing another Aseyin of Iseyin.
