….Assure Oyo Governor of Support Towards Smooth Take-off

Following the decision of Oyo State government to ensure prompt take off of Iseyin Campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, the people of Oke Ogun have expressed their appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his untiring efforts developing the State without leaving out any region.

Encomium, commendations and prayers were showered on Makinde during an emergency meeting comprising people of the ten local government areas in Oke-Ogun, held at the palace of Aseyin of Iseyin in Iseyin town.

In his opening remarks, the Ikolaba of Iseyin, High Chief Ismail Odubiyi declared that Governor Makinde has wiped away the tears of over fifty years of crave for higher institutions of learning, by establishing in Oke Ogun, a campus of LAUTECH.

He assured the Governor saying “just like it was demonstrated in the last general elections, people of Oke Ogun, particularly Iseyin will forever be grateful to Governor Makinde who has brought educational and infrastructural development to our area.

“Sons and daughters of Oke Ogun have expressed their kudos to the Makinde-led administration and are all ready to receive the management, staff and students of LAUTECH as they are resuming by June 5, 2023.”

Speaking on behalf of Oke Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF), Barrister Bayo Raji who is the forum’s Financial Secretary, prayed that Governor Makinde will never regret making LAUTECH a multi-campus institution in Oyo State.

He declared that Oke Ogun would make a peaceful and conducive environment available as LAUTECH, Iseyin Campus has been officially slated to take off by June 5 this year.

In the words of the Chairman, Iseyin Local government, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon, the people of Oke-Ogun, the host community in particular, Iseyin should sustain their quest for peaceful co-existence with various groups in order to complement efforts of Governor Makinde in his war against violence.

He charged them to be ready to receive management, staff and students of Faculty of Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin because the Governor has done everything legally required to do so.

“Our Governor, Principal and God-sent jinx breaker has given us the campus in Oke Ogun and so there is absolutely nothing anybody, group or community can do to reverse the decision”, Hon. Abilawon stated.

In his own remarks, The Chairman, Adhoc Committee for LAUTECH, Hon. Waheed Olaniyan hinted “we sincerely appreciate our dear Governor for his untiring efforts and fair consideration for other parts of Oyo State”.

“We pray that the legacies of Governor Makinde will outlive his administration and shall become reference points in the history of Oyo State.“

While reacting to protest from a segment of Ogbomoso aimed at discouraging Governor Makinde from taking further actions in bringing the campus of LAUTECH to Iseyin, Hon. Olaniyan pointed out that the move was not supported by the progressive-minded individuals in Ogbomoso.

According to him, such a protest was the handiwork of few uninformed people who were being used for reasons other than development of education and the spread of dividends of democracy in Oyo State.

At the meeting, special prayers were offered for the Governor Makinde-led government in Oyo State by religious leaders like the Chief Imam of Iseyinland, Sheikh Abdulakeem Olajori, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Iseyin local government branch, Apostle Ogundairo Adeniyi Sunday and Oluwo of Iseyinland, Chief Ifasoji Adeyemi.
