Letter: For the Attention of Oyo State Commissioner for Public works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin.

While on the road yesterday, the 13th June, 2022, It was gathered that an accident that claimed a life of a driver popularly called (Baba Ibeji) occured on the spot on Sunday, the 12th June 2022. And just Today, on my way back to Lagos enroute same road, I saw another accident involving a trailer and a car on the spot. I believe the driver of the car can only be saved by divine mercy because of the impact I saw at the driver’s side.

Letter:

For the Attention of Oyo State Commissioner for Public works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin.

Dear sir,

I wish to drive your attention to a portion of Moniya/ Iseyin road that’s likely to turn to red and danger zone if urgent actions are not taking to avert same.

The spot is an adjoining untarred road connecting the Moniya-Iseyin road at about 37km into Iseyin from Ibadan, ditto 28km into Ibadan from Iseyin. The erosion coming from the untarred road conveyed a lot of sand on the road’s wearing course, causing some unsuspecting motorists to loose control of the vehicle and either somersaulted or plunged into the bush. The contractor might have not considered erosion factor along that axis while the Construction is in progress.

Yours sincerely, apart from fatality factor which is key to note, having such volume of erosion and sand on the road may endanger the live span of the road, thus causing the state government a fortune for untimely repairs that can be channeled to another developmental project. This, I trust you wouldn’t also pray it happens.

Dear Commissioner, we are just stepping into raining season, this could be a litmus test of many havocs to be wrecked (God forbid) when the rain starts fully. Hence, your prompt action in getting this remediated is advised to safe lives of our road users and to judiciously preserve the road from untimely rehabilitation.

I thank you sir.

May God bless Oyo State.
