Governor Seyi Makinde and his Kwara State counterpart, Abdrahman Abdfatai will today, flag-off the construction of the Iseyin-Ogbomoso road.
The two governors are expected to do the flag-off ceremony in the afternoon at the Ogbomoso end of the road.
Meanwhile a frontline People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’ women leader in Oyo State, Alhaja Serifat Akorede has disclosed that her group, Seyi Makinde 2023 Concerned Group has mobilized over twenty thousand members across the State to canvass votes for the governor during the coming gubernatorial election.
Akorede said the group members would mobilize support from the members of the public, using interpersonal, group discussions and town hall meetings to woo voters to join the train of positive continuity.
She told The Chronicler Newspaper on Tuesday at Iseyin that she has toured many local government areas of the State to establish the group and mobilize members for the task ahead.
In her words, she pointed that if not for politics, the second term election supposed to be a easy ride for the incumbent, looking at the number of developmental projects that have been completed or in the pipeline for the benefit of the residents of Oyo State, apart from workers and pensioners welfare.
”In a long time in politics, we have not experienced this kind of good governance that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is giving Oyo State, we have all seen that among his peers as governors in Nigeria, he stands out as one of the best in performance and good leadership traits.
”When last have you seen pensioners turn out in such magnitude to appreciate a governor in Oyo State like they did to Makinde today (Tuesday), it is because he has their interest and that of other residents at heart.
”Our group will leave no stone unturned to mobilize for his second term election success, we will employ every available means of convincing our people, although our work has been made easy with his performance, we shall succeed by God’s grace.”
