Manual Collation of Results Allows For Rigging – Shina Peller

The Oyo North Senatorial Candidate of the Accord Party at the last Saturday election, Hon. Shina Peller has described the use of manual collation before electric transmission of votes cast as precursor for rigging and election compromise.
Peller, who is currently a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, kajola and Iwajowa federal constituency said this in a tweet he made on Monday afternoon, describing the process as sad and a setback for the electoral system.

“Sadly, Nigeria is far from getting its electoral system right. From electronic transmission of results to manual coalition gives room for manipulation of results. It’s a setback for our electoral system as the voting process is being compromised.”
Hon. Shina Peller lost to the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Fatai Buhari.
