Middle-Aged Man Killed, Burnt By Mob In Ibadan, Traced To Iseyin

The Chronicler Newspaper’s source said the unnamed man was burnt by the angry mob on Tuesday morning on the 21st July, 2022, when he snatched a motorcycle and was unlucky, as the owner raised the alarm and passersby succeeded in chasing and apprehending him.

A middle-aged man that was apprehended, killed and burnt by a mob along Eleyele-Poly Road in Ibadan for snatching a motorbike has been identified as an indigene of Iseyin, in Iseyin local government.

The Chronicler Newspaper’s source said the unnamed man was burnt by the angry mob on Tuesday morning on the 21st July, 2022, when he snatched a motorcycle and was unlucky, as the owner raised the alarm and passersby succeeded in chasing and apprehending him.

He was immediately killed by the mob, who believed if handed over to the security agents, he might be freed later.

Our source who said he witnessed the moment the suspect was caught said although he did not know his name, he was sure that the man was from Iseyin and was an Okada rider who lived at Apete area.

”It was a gory sight the following morning when I passed by the area where he was caught on Tuesday and I discovered that he was eventually burnt to death.

”I used to know him alongside other guys that used to ride Okada and were from Iseyin, nobody would believe he could be somebody that would be involved in robbing people of their possessions like Okada, Iseyin people there are known to be hardworking and respectful.

”I wish I can give you his name but I don’t know it, but his family needs to know so they will know that their son has been killed, especially as his remains was burnt to ashes, it is terrible,” our source revealed.
