The father of the commercial motorcyclist, Hamzat Sikirullah kidnapped by his three passengers on Tuesday in Iseyin has disclosed that the assailants matcheted his son and took him to a bush with the belief that he had given up the ghost.

Sikirullahi, according to Pa Hamzat was rescued by the Amotekun personnel of the Afijio local government that have been on the trail of the abductors since they were called by their Iseyin counterparts.

He said the aim of the Fulani abductors was to snatch his motorcycle after he has taken them to Oyo town, which they achieved on their way back towards Iseyin towards evening.

“They matcheted him all over, stabbed him and believed he was dead, they then took his body to a bush and dump him there, thank God for People’s prayers, he walked from the bush and was found by the Amotekun people that have been on the trail of the Fulani abductors.

“The passengers he took to Oyo were three, it was on their way back that they struck, they started hitting him, stabbing and hacking him with cutlasses, they saw that he has lost much blood and was about to die when they dumped him in the bush and ran away with his motorcycle.”

Two of the suspects were later arrested while the patrol team of the Amotekun met the three along the road on their way back to Iseyin but the third man who rode the motorcycle escaped and is being sought by the police as at the time of going to press.

The Chronicler Newspaper’s police source said the escaped suspect would soon be arrested as the other two have given information about their operations after they were apprehended.

“They already sold the motorcycle at Oyo, they were planning on coming back to Iseyin to pick another Okada for the same operation when they were nabbed, we are investigating the case and on the trail of the last man of the gang.

“I appeal to the Okada riders to be wary of who they carry on their motorcycles, they should not be attracted by money to lose their sense of security,” the source, who demand anonymity advised.

Meanwhile Sikirullahi has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment as many sympathizers thronged the family house at Oke Gbegi, Ilado area in Iseyin to sympathize with the family.
