Oke-Ogun Obas, Iseyin Community Elders Attend Inauguration of New Oyo SSG
Prominent traditional rulers from Oyo State, especially Oke-Ogun area, Iseyin community leaders, families and friends were in attendance on Wednesday, when the new Secretary to the State government, (SSG), Prof. (Mrs) Olanike Adeyemo was sworn-in by the Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
Among the traditional rulers at the event are the Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Ikolaba of Iseyin, High Chief Ismahil Odubiyi, Otun-Aseyin of Iseyin, Ogbee of Isalu, Iseyin and Alawaye of Awaye.
Leading the community and political leaders at the swearing-in ceremony was erstwhile State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Omokunmi Mustapha, Prof. Bolanle Wahab and the Executive Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon among others.
Governor Makinde charged the new SSG to give all within her capacity to contribute to the State’s growth.
He said the choice of the university scholar was borne out of her pedigree in the academic institution at home and abroad as well as her diligence, discipline and forthrightness.
In her response, Adeyemo pledged not to let down the Governor and the people of the State in her efforts to propel the State forward and make it the envy of other States in the nation.
Prof. Olanike Adeyemo was a Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan and has represented Nigeria at global events.
