Oke-Ogun Youths Demand Probe into Gateway Polytechnic Lecturer’s Murder

Youths from the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State have charged the Nigerian Police to urgently unravel the brains behind the brutal murder of Engr. Mufutau Olayemi, a lecturer at the Gateway Polytechnic in Ogun State.

Sources close to the institution said the killing could either be related to attack by cultists among students of the Gateway Polytechnic or armed robbery as the deceased was shot at close range.
In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday evening, the Coordinator, Alliance for Oke-Ogun Development (A.O.D), Comrade Fasasi Abiodun, the group lamented the killing of the young lecturer and demanded investigation into the killing.
“We mourn this loss of a notable youth from Oke-Ogun who has despite his young age, contributed to the progress of the society as a scholar, he will be sourly missed.
“We are using this opportunity to condole his immediate and extended families, his colleagues at work and friends over this loss but to take solace in the fact that within, a shortest period of time Engr. Mufutau have succesfully made a glowing impact in the life of hundreds of his students, friends, family and relatives before answered the supreme call.”
The Ogun State police command has assured that investigation has been launched into the assassination and findings would soon be in the public domain.
