Oyo Sponsors 15 Youths For Meter Manufacturing Training

Fifteen youths from Oyo State were sponsored to an ongoing training workshop organized by the Federal government of Nigeria in collaboration with Momas Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company Limited at Abeokuta in Ogun State.

The training which started on Thursday was attended by Oyo state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Temilolu Ashamu and officials of the Ministry.

Ashamu said that the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration would continue to give priority attention to youths empowerment as part of its campaign promises that must be fulfilled.

The Commissioner said the step would go a long way in providing job opportunities for the participants and turn them to employers of labour.

He called on the youths to cooperate with Oyo State government in its strive to make life more meaningful for the entire citizenry.

The Commissioner noted with joy that the training would address the problems of estimated billing in the country and stamp out distrust between electricity distribution companies and their customers.

“We appreciate the Federal government of Nigeria and Momas Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company Limited for this project, which we believe will engage our teeming youths from participating States positively.

“This training workshop will churn out youths that would not only become automatically employed but also be employers of labour, as they will also need others to engage in the production and assemblage process.

“It is the belief and policy direction of the present administration in Oyo State to key into any developmental project that will have direct positive Impacts on the youths, as it is being done in education, agriculture, urbanization and the tourism sector.

“The Seyi Makinde-led government will see to ways to uplift the youths to be independent in their economic engagement and also encourage them to become good leaders of the nation, this can only be done if we give them the tools to be realize and put their potentials into good use.”

In his address, the Chairman, Momas Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company, Engr Kola Balogun commended the Federal government for organizing the training workshop and appreciate Oyo state government for supporting the participants.

He advised the participants to make very good use of the training as a way of making a living to make our society better.
