The Pioneer Movement, Iseyin (PMI) which is an assemblage of professionals who are indigenes of Iseyin community as well as other lovers of the community will begin this year’s celebration of its week on Friday 2nd December, 2022.

The event, which will kickstart with an outreach programme tagged ‘Walk For Life, Walk For Peace’ in remembrance of a late member, Barrister Kayode Asiru, will feature distribution of fliers and engagement of market women and other sectors of the society on the need to work together to nip criminalities in the bud and distribution of branded T-Shirts and caps to seventy people that arrive early to the Iseyin City Hall, which is the take-off point.

 

 

According to the PMI President, Barrister Abimbola Ojedokun in a statement made available to Press men on Thursday, the 2022 annual week was packaged to honor the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kayode Ariwoola, who is also an indigene of the community and a longtime friend of the Movement.

 

 

 

 

He added that the Friday events will also include a special Jumat service at the Anwarul-Islam Central Mosque, Oluwole and the final episode of the late Pioneer Ajibike Bisiriyu Football Competition at the Iseyin Township Stadium.

“We will commence this year’s Pioneer Movement, Iseyin (PMI) Week 2022 on Friday, 2nd December, 2022 with an outreach programme tagged ‘Walk for Life, Walk for Peace’ in remembrance of Late Pioneer Kayode Asiru.

 

 

“During the outreach we will distribute flyers and addressed members of Iseyin Community on the need to eschew cultism, drugs, all forms of criminality and take their education and vocations seriously.

“There will be distribution of free T-Shirts for the first 70 people to arrive at the take off point at the City Hall, Iseyin. We will also have our Jumat Thanksgiving Service at Anwarul Islam Central, Mosque, Oluwole, Iseyin and we will end the evening with the final of late Pioneer Ajibike Bisiriyu football competition.”

 

 

The statement further stated that the PMI annual lecture, which will be delivered by the Chairman, Nigerian Communication Commission, Prof. Adeolu Akande, tittled “The Impact of Effective Judicial System on Community Development”, as well as Scholarship and Teachers’ Award will hold at the Queen Event Center, Oja-Agbe Iseyin by ten in the morning while the celebration will end with church thanksgiving service at the Baptist Church, Oluwole, Iseyin on Sunday 4th of December, 2022.

 

 

He said in conclusion “on Saturday 03/12/2022 we shall hold the annual Public Lecture and Scholarship/ Teachers’ Award at Queen Event Center,Oja-Agbe, Ado-Awaye Road, Iseyin at 10am prompt and on Sunday, 04/12/2022,the last day, we shall have the Church Thanksgiving Service at Baptist Church, Oluwole, Iseyin.”
