Police Source Confirms Two Killed As Kidnapers Snatched ‘Kogerun’, In Iseyin

A vehicle mechanic and an apprentice of the popular building materials merchant, Alhaji Wamod, popularly called ‘Kogerun’ were killed as kidnappers picked the businessman on Saturday evening.
A close source from the Nigerian Police, Oyo State Command, Eleyele in Ibadan told The Chronicler Newspaper that reports from Iseyin Divisional Police Headquarter, indicates that stray bullet hit the yet to be identified vehicle mechanic, who later died on Sunday, but an apprentice of the kidnapped trader was shot when he beamed his motorcycle’s full light on the gang at the entrance of the victim’s house.
The kidnappers were yet to reach out to their victim’s family till the time of publishing this report, since ‘Kogerun’ was kidnapped on Saturday evening at his residence at Alobalowo Estate along Ipapo road, Iseyin.
”The apprentice was asked to go buy five thousand naira worth of petrol for the house generator by Alhaji Wamod from shop and on his way back home, he was unaware that strangers were lurking at the entrance of the victim’s compound, his motorcycle’s headlamp attracted the kidnappers, who shot him in the chest and he died immediately.
”The mechanic that later died on Sunday was fatally wounded by a stray bullet while the kidnappers were trying to escape after successfully snatching Alhaji Wamod.
”As I am talking to you now, the family of the kidnapped victim are yet to get any call from the kidnappers to ask for ransom,” the police source revealed.
Alhaji Wamod ‘Kogerun’ was described by residents at Oke-Oremoje area where his vast expanse of business empire is located, as very rich but extremely frugal, which led to his nickname, ‘Kogerun’.
The apprehension caused by the kidnap, according to the police, has led to intense investigation by all security agencies in the community who have called on residents to give information about the incident, which they said could lead to unraveling the kidnap case.
