Sad! Iseyin-Born Lagos Socialite, Waheed Atinuke Dies at 74

A one time Lagos socialite and businessman, Alhaji Waheed Atinuke died today after a brief illness at the age of 74.

Atinuke, an indigene of Iseyin town in Iseyin local government was the darling of popular musicians like late Chief Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Wasiu Ayinde and others when he was based in Lagos, before relocating to Iseyin, his hometown, where he breathed his last.

The Chronicler Newspaper gathered that the late Waheed was a strong force behind Barrister, especially while he was starting to break into limelight.

The deceased left Lagos in the early 90s and became a supplier of building materials and road construction materials to construction companies, especially during the reconstruction of Abeokuta-Iseyin road by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

He later went into table water production with his popular ‘Tinu Water’ brand.

Alhaji Waheed Atinuke left behind wives, children and extended family as well as friends and lovers.
