Southwest Is 100% PDP, Makinde Tells Atiku at Ibadan

Governor Seyi Makinde has informed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar that the whole of Southwest Nigeria is in support of the party.

Makinde said this on Wednesday when Atiku visited Ibadan, the State capital for the Southwest PDP stakeholders’ meeting, reiterating his earlier stand on the need for the incumbent party Chairman, Iyochia Ayu to resign for the party to show the Southwest region a sense of belonging.

“We have issues in our party but we have an internal mechanism to resolve our
differences.

“Here is Oyo state: the Pace Setter State. We are the heartbeat of the Southwest, be rest assured that the Southwest is hundred percent PDP.”

Present at the meeting were gubernatorial candidates and major stakeholders of the party from Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos State as well as the winner of the last Osun State gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Abubakar Atiku assured the party faithfuls in the Southwest region of equal voices among all interests in the party, if given the opportunity to lead the nation.

He called on Nigerians to put all hands on deck to rescue the nation from its present state, describing the ruling party as bereft of leadership ideas that can lead Nigeria to the needed position among other nations.

On the call for the removal of the national Chairman of the party, the Turaki Adamawa told the audience that unless a constitutional change is effected, it would be difficult to achieve such desire.
