Two middle-aged men from Saki West local government, Saki have been arrested for stealing goats and paraded by residents of the community.

 

Reports have it that a woman who used to keep the goats for the thieves at Agunrege, Itesiwaju local is still at large.

The Chronicler Newspaper learnt that the goat thieves have been in the shady business for a long time but we’re exposed during the period the major goat and cattle markets in Iseyin, Iseyin local government and other markets populated by Fulani cattle sellers were shut down.

The markets were shut by an order from the local government over the rumor of impending protest against the Fulani herders in the community and the goat thieves that used to take the stolen goats to this market along Ibadan road could not do so for two weeks, which forced them to approach other sellers and the police was contacted.

The two men have been taken to the State police headquarters for further probe and subsequent trial.
