Against a rumored backing out of the four candidates for the the Oyo North Senatorial District ticket from Oke-Ogun over the allegations of manipulation of delegate list and thumb printing of voters slip at some party leaders’ houses and hotel at Iseyin, it has been established that the candidates would not be backing out of the race.

Hon Shina Peller, Alhaji Saheed Alaran, Hon Sola Ogunbode and Mrs Adeboyin Oladokun protested the manipulation of the delegate list to favor the incumbent Senator Fatai Buhari by Senator Teslim Folarin on Saturday morning.

The four candidates in a joint statement on Sunday pointed out that they were not backing out of the race because the party belonged to everyone that love institutional democracy.

They said their demand is for the election to be held at no other place than Iseyin District Grammar School (IDGS), Iseyin and that the distorted delegate list be rectified and returned to its original form.

“It is not true that we are backing out of the contest Accor to that rumor, we are asking that the venue of the election should remain IDGS in Iseyin and the list they manipulated be restored to its original form.

“APC is our party, they should know that and we promise you that we shall not be intimidated to bow to their nefarious pressure and antics, how on earth would people resort to thumb printing ballots that was supposed to be done by delegates on the field at a hotel and a former local government Chairman’s house?

“We will not relent till sanity prevails in this exercise,” they submitted.
