‘We Plan Installing 75 Transformers Together’ Buhari Appeals To Iseyin Community

The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Fatai Buhari has appealed to the youths in Ogunbado community in Iseyin local government area to be patient for the installation of the new transformer he donated to the community alongside 74 others to be done at the same time.

The appeal followed a report of protest by some youths in the area who were seen in a video made by ‘Sojuloore Online Tv’ on Tuesday, protesting over the lateness in the installation of the said transformer.

The particular community received a transformer donated earlier by the Honorable representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola and Iwajowa, Hon. Shina Peller but the transformer, which had been in use for some period got spoilt.

The protesting youths who removed the planks used to protect the transformer but left the transformer in the open, calling on the Senator to take the transformer away, as they claimed that Buhari did not want the new transformer to be installed at the same point where that of the honorable was installed.

“We have reached out to Hon. Shina Peller that we want to remove his own transformer that is faulty so as to replace it with the new one from the Senator and he agreed, but the Senator said we should not do that because he wanted to install it in another place, this is the fifth week that the installation has not been done, he should come and take his transformer.”

A close aide to Senator Buhari, Mr. Lukmon Adewale when contacted by our source, said the former transformer donated by Hon. Peller got spoilt a month after its installation but when the Senator heard about the pleas of the people of Ogunbado community, he took a new 500kva transformer to the community.

Adewale hinted that Buhari distributed 75 transformers across the Senatorial district and planned to install them at the same time, calling on the youths of the community to exercise patience and not allow politicians to poison their minds against the Senator.

He further reiterated the readiness of the lawmaker to make life conducive for the people of the Senatorial district as was done when the Ogunbado-Ikere road, which was hitherto dilapidated was recently reconstructed.

“After about a month that Hon Shina Peller gave Oke Ogunbado community a brand new transformer, the transformer got spoiled beyond repair and when distinguished senator Buhari Abdul-Fatai heard about their plight, he gave them a brand new 500kva transformer with the plan of installing it together with the existing 75 transformers across Oyo north.

“This same Oke Ogunbado community already have their road tarred from Moji-Elepo up to Ikere park by the same Distinguished Senator Buhari Abdul-Fatai, 75 transformers were donated to various communities and some of them have been connected to the national grid while others are waiting approval.

“We appeal to the youths of Ogunbado community that all the 75 transformers shall be connected to national grid before November, there is no need to apply politics when the issue is about the welfare of the people,” he appealed.
